Day Two – (20 days until the first day of school)
“He must increase, but I must decrease.” (John 3:30)
In her book, “40 Days of Decrease: A Different Kind of Hunger”, Alicia Britt Chole invites readers to consider an unconventional fast: to fast in a less tangible manner in order for God to reveal himself in more tangible ways; to “decrease” in the areas of our lives – the thoughts and actions that lead to influences such as false humility, collecting accolades, and the need to be right; to personally experience the divine exchange which manifests the power and presence of God inside and outside of the classroom.
You are a conduit of the power and presence of God; a vessel he selected to represent Him at a specific time, in a specific place.
Where must you “decrease; where must God “increase” in order for the students, parents, co-workers and anyone else within your assigned sphere of influence to see Him clearly?
